WhatsApp Business Agent

An agent that answers a business’s WhatsApp in Arabic — it reads the message, works out who is asking, and drafts a reply from a knowledge base the owner controls. Anything touching money, complaints or health goes to a person regardless of how confident it was. Nothing reaches a customer unreviewed: replies are scored and held for an operator to approve from a web dashboard or a React Native mobile app, and letting an account answer on its own is a deliberate decision rather than the default.

Document Archive

An on-premise registry for incoming and outgoing correspondence in a government office, deployed across an air-gapped local network with an isolated database per office. I architected the application as a single-origin deployment behind Nginx: a domain-driven Laravel backend serving an RTL React 19 SPA built with Mantine and TanStack Query, with frontend types compiled directly from OpenAPI contracts to eliminate API drift. Built for high-reliability offline environments, with hash-chained audit logs to detect database tampering, automated encrypted backups, and search over normalized Arabic text.

Furniture store

An online store for a home furniture shop in Jeddah, with an admin side where the owner keeps the catalogue current himself. Checkout takes PayPal or a bank deposit, or hands the order straight to WhatsApp, which is how the shop already takes them. Built and waiting on his photography and final prices before it launches.

A discussion and management hub for university students, built by a small team under the SAHIM-Platform organisation — my largest single body of work anywhere. I led the backend: Google OAuth with refresh-token rotation, threads with nested comments, voting and bookmarks, full-text search with Arabic support, rate limiting and role-based access — and the reviews, since every pull request into the API came through me. On the Next.js client, infinite scroll and the admin pages.

An AI summarization platform built in a seven-day hackathon sprint under the letssummarize organisation — YouTube videos, documents and raw text in, summaries out. I designed the core backend architecture: swappable models (GPT-4o, DeepSeek-V3, Gemini), Whisper transcription pipelines, text-to-speech, S3 storage, and a public developer API where integrators bring their own keys.

Real-time messaging as a two-person collaboration with Khaled Alshibani. I built the Next.js client — chat and group UI, live WebSocket updates, sent/delivered/read status, Zustand state — and worked deep in the Spring Boot server too: the message lifecycle, group roles and membership, and file attachments coordinated across REST and WebSocket.

Stream an Android phone’s screen to a laptop and drive it with mouse and keyboard — no app install, no root. An Electron client that speaks scrcpy-server’s wire protocol directly: H.264 decoded with WebCodecs onto a canvas, device audio as raw PCM over a third socket, wireless pairing by QR code over mDNS. The streaming path is deliberately React-free, so a re-render can never cost a frame.

A multi-branch hotel management system from a college team — an ASP.NET Core API in Clean Architecture with an Electron desktop client. I laid the architecture and database schema, built JWT auth with refresh-token rotation and the core domain CRUD, reviewed teammates’ pull requests, and landed guest management in the desktop client.
